In 2007 Jan Casier achieved his bachelor degree in Communication and Multimedia Design at the Media and Design Academy in Genk and is currently finishing his Master thesis. Now he has another mountain to climb, his first job, at Boulevart.
Project Planner is a job in line with his personal goals: communication, organization, efficiency and teamwork.
Getting up at 7 o’clock to walk for 12 miles on the beach was a god’s gift for a bunch of designers and developers (not!) J However this was the start of an active get together sailing event with the Boulevart team. The sailing boats were fun but flying over the sea at 60 miles an hour, with 250 horsepower powerboats, kicked ass.

About a week ago a few of us, 5 to be exact, went to Grenoble for a bungee jump from the Ponsonnas bridge. It took us about 12 hours by bus to get there, together with some colleagues from our holding company Cronos. And…it took us 14 hours to get back home. All this for a jump that only lasts 5 seconds. Statistics: 4 of us jumped, 1 didn’t.
Was it fun? According to all 50 in the bus, “yes”.
Jeroen Suys
Jeroen Suys graduated in 2008 at “Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen”. After finishing his studies in the web development specialization,
and a successful internship at Calibrate (Cronos), a multimedia company, he wanted to start his future in a web development environment.
Passionate about the web he decided to take the professional multimedia challenge at Boulevart.
Filip Heymans
Filip Heymans graduated this year at the Katholieke Hogeschool Mechelen with a “Information management and –systems” degree. In the past he conceptualized a web application for a foosball federation (http://www.cbkantwerpen.be). This is when his passion for developing websites in PHP started. Next year, more federations will implement this web application. Filip considers having a sense of humor, being flexible and always willing to learn more are good qualities of him.
Boulevart keeps on growing and always tries to find the right people for the right job.
Nico Oorts
Nico Oorts is an expert on media technology with a strong interest in the web. After obtaining his Master of Engineering he started at the Flemish Radio and Television as an application engineer and later as researcher (the Advanced Media & FIPA project) and project leader at VRT’s medialab. He was co-founder of channl.tv (a web application which allows you to create your own channels on your TV) and release manager for VRT’s pioneering project, the ‘Digital Media Factory’. Together with Boulevart, he will further explore the boundaries of the web and new media.
Andy Jacobs
Andy’s love for actionscript started with the release of Flash 5 and it did not take long for him to become a scripting addict. He graduated this year at the Technical University of West-Flanders with a “Multimedia & Communication Technology” degree. Finishing his year earning a Multimedia Award at Multi-Mania for a school project he worked out together with his colleague Roel Vanduffel, Andy felt it was time to become a part of something more. Eager to learn everything there is to know about Actionscript from more experienced developers, Andy will become a member of our Flex Team.

Maarten Cox graduated this year at “Karel De Grote Hogeschool” in the multimedia specialization course and did his internship here at boulevart. After doing some game-programmig in Finland (erasmus) he decided to do what he likes best and that is Flex. At the moment he’s also busy with handling the support and web-mastering job but he looks forward to get started in the flex team and learn from his more experienced colleagues.
Being a great fan of Java, Joris Peeters has followed a number of Java and OO courses. Included in these are J2EE, extensive OO design principles and various frameworks (Hibernate, Struts, Spring, …). His expertise lies in designing and implementing enterprise-level applications. Currently he uses PHP as a tool to build webapplications. Always willing to learn more, he’s hoping to expand this ‘toolset’ while working at Boulevart.
