Hilde Van Dyck: “I joined Boulevart Group because (I was kidnapped &) I believe in it!
Other relevant believes: professionalism goes hand in hand with a dash of fun, even chaos has a pattern and I love living on the edge between creativity and structure.
Nice to know: I am a lousy housewife but for project problems, usability issues and trouble with your cat, I am your (wo)man!”
Sit back and get ready for some juicy stuff. Together with Wim and Richard we interviewed a bunch of Adobe evangelists and community leaders at the MAX after party. With Ben Forta being the only sober guy at the event this makes an interesting compilation …
Enjoy the wise words of Aral Balkan, Mark Anders, Mike Jones, Justin Everett-Church, Carlos Ulloa, and more!
After 2 overwhelming conferences in Barcelona and Chicago, Nicolas could show off his Google Analytics Tool at Customer First. Despites the noise from the other sessions there was a good interaction with the audience, who had to stand up at the back of the room due to the number of attendees. And of course Mariah Carey had to do her thing too.
At the Adobe boot we found ourselves a new edition of the Adobe Special and guess what … the article about Creative Suite showed some of our finest work en quotes from Wim Vanhenden (Multimedia Director).
At the same location, ten fine colleagues were present at the MIXX Awards, dined at a candlelit table and talked to the finest people of the Belgian agencies.
Last night, after the sneak previews (less than in Chicago but still impressive), we joined the MAX “Royal night” with our team. We saw magicians do some pretty cool stuff, they even tricked us in slow motion and this had nothing to do with the cava. For us it was like meeting more then 1000 interesting and like-minded people. We dragged a bunch of the world’s finest developers, architects and guru’s for the camera and had lots of fun. Stay tuned for some original video material next week …
At 2pm, two guys from our team took over the mic @ the MAX in Barcelona. There were not that much attendees; general interest for our Google Analytics Applications was there but our session was not pronounced in the schedule, unfortunately! We even got some help from our Steven Verbruggen from These Days who demoed our tool with his Google Analytics account. Seemed that he had more visitors on his blog then we had during our session that day … but it sure was fun:-)
We even had the chance to show off our desktop Tamagotchi in Barcelona; code-named Stinky panda
And yes, these guys love Mariah Carey, check out the flickr based desktop application the build for fun.
The H10 Hotel is a perfect spot for some extra ”work” on the cool presentation Win and Nicolas are going to give. The Spanish Cava adds some more creativity to their Mariah Carey desktop concept.
Wim and Richard (the guy with the camera stitched on his right hand) enjoying the early morning coffee in CCIB.
We’re 2 hours @ the conference and guess what … we’re not the only Belgian developers around
After a heavy beerbreakfast, Fre losing his shampoo, deo and hairgel, a 2 hour flight + 15 minutes of trouble connecting the bridge to the plane, we finally made it to Barcelona. Took a taxi to the hotel, dropped our stuff in our rooms, and went for a trip to the city. 24°C, and the living’s easy… especially when you’re from Belgium in mid-octobre.
We bought a new building, changed our logo, launched a new site and continue as 3 companies operating under Boulevart Group from now on.
To come and ring in this new era with us, we invited our customers, employees and partners for oysters and champagne. It was a nice party and we got some very nice response on our new environment. I would like to thank everyone for creating such a nice atmosphere. As you can see the bubbles were much appreciated.
Me and Nicolas recently attended the keynote at Adobe MAX Chicago, and guess what … I had to take a lot of pictures because we were in it. The Google Analytics Reporting suite was demoed by Kevin Lynch in front of 4300 people. We were blown away by the positive energy of so many cool features, applications, enthusiastic speakers and inspiring sessions (people had to sit on the floor to get a glimpse of Erik Natzke’s digital artwork). The User Interface Designer from Buzzword gave us his bright vision on collaboration between designers and developers while creating Rich Internet Applications. The Adobe MAX conference in Chicago was “the max” and convinced me that MAX is a conference not to be missed. I am already looking forward to Adobe MAX 2008 in San Francisco. But first things first.
Next week we’re leaving for our next Adobe adventure in Barcelona. Nicolas, Wim, Frederik and myself will attend some new sessions, discussion platforms and show off our cool “stinky panda” and Google Analytics Tool. We’re really looking forward to meet some of our partners, friends and colleagues from all over.
Ever had dinner with 4000 geeks at the same time?
Huge crowd looking forward to the keynote session.
Everything was a spectacle. Adobe engaged some fine people with real cool ideas.
We went on the AIR bus. Next tour in Europe guys?
Meeting Flex developers from NASA who won the MAX contest and got a nice looking trophy
